FJB Splits Game One of Weekend Series with Typhoon

ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Jr. Blades split day one of a weekend home series with the Palm Beach Typhoon on Saturday.
Elite started off the afternoon with a decisive 7-1 victory, an all around team effort as there were six different goal scorers for the Blades. The Jr. Blades scored five goals in the first period and never looked back, goaltender Tristan Falsetto stopped 17 shots in the final two periods to earn his eight win on the season. Florida’s captain Jacob Gusty moved from defense to offense for this game and did not disappoint, scoring his second and third goals on the season. Samuel Gusty also had himself a breakout game, assisting on his brother’s first goal and adding another later in the first period for his first two points on the season.
Florida Jr. Blades Premier found themselves on the other side of a seven goal output as they fell to the visiting Typhoon by a score of 7-2. Cam Croteau and Brett Beale scored the only two goals for the Jr. Blades and goaltender Sal Carabelli made 32 saves in the losing effort.
Florida and Palm Beach will get right back at it on Sunday afternoon as they move to the main rink at Hertz arena to finish up this weekend series. Elite will play at 12:15 and Premier will follow soon after at 3:15. Tickets to this afternoon’s games are only $5.
