ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Jr. Blades completed the weekend home series with an Elite / Premier sweep on Sunday afternoon at Hertz Arena.
Elite finished off their weekend with another seven goal performance, five different goal scorers for the Jr. Blades pacing them to a 7-2 victory over Palm Beach. After falling behind 1-0 less than a minute into the game, Jr. Blades forward Bailey Kaiser scored his 10th goal of the season, a shorthanded goal, to tie the game up just before time expired in the first period. Florida would score three goals in each of the final two periods and goaltender Tristan Falsetto would stop 31 of 33 shots to propel the Jr. Blades to their second victory in as many days. Rookie forward Thomas Filoramo, two goals and one assist, and recent signing Ryder Patten, four assists, had breakout games for the Jr. Blades who are now 10-8-0-0 on the season, good for third in the Florida Division.
Jr. Blades Premier bounced back in a big way on Sunday afternoon, scoring three goals in the first period and never trailing in their eventual 7-4 victory over the Typhoon. First year forward Oliver Jorgenson provided some much needed scoring for the Jr. Blades netting two goals, one of which being the eventual game winner, and two assists for four points overall on the afternoon. Florida goaltender Tyler Ledoux stopped 42 of 46 to earn his third win of the season, pushing the team’s overall record to 6-11-1 on the year.
