Jr. Blades Welcome Typhoon back to the Swamp

ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Jr. Blades get set to clash with the Palm Beach Typhoon for a home series in both Premier and Elite action. Checkout some information below on this matchup as we get ready for another great weekend of USPHL action:

Premier:

This will be the second meeting between these two teams this season, with the Jr. Blades taking a decisive 6-3 victory in their first back on October 7. The familiar trio of Croteau, Beale, and Ketola notched 13 of the Blades’ 18 points in the victory, Oliver Jorgensen scored his first goal of the season, starting him on a three-game scoring streak for the first year forward.

The Blades will look to get back to their winning ways at home as they welcome in a Typhoon team struggling to find the win column, currently on an 0-6-1-0 stretch dating back to their visit to Hertz arena.

Player Highlights:

Typhoon forward Vesse Lampen is currently on a 15-game point streak and leads his team in goals (13) and overall points (22). The 19-year-old native of Espoo, Finland has scored a goal in his last four games and will look to extend that streak this weekend in Estero.

Jr. Blades defenseman Austin Weber scored his first goal of the season on Wednesday in a spirited affair between the cross-town rival Eels.

Elite:

The last time these two teams met up the Typhoon snuck out of Hertz Arena with their first win of the season. In that game defenseman Anthony Cossentino and forward Levi Todd scored their first goals of the season, giving the Jr. Blades a 5-3 lead going into the second intermission. Palm Beach would rattle off 3 goals in the 3rd period to eventually win the game 6-5.

Since that meeting on October 7 the Jr. Blades have posted a respectable 3-4-0-0 record while Palm Beach has struggled, going 0-6-0-0 in the roughly month-long stretch.

Player Highlights:

Palm Beach’s Zach Zamiellio leads his team in all major scoring categories ( 8-8-16) and had a strong outing in his previous game, netting two goals and adding an assist against the Tampa Bay Juniors.

Jr. Blades forward Rory Neish ranks 7th on the national leaderboard with 17 assists in just 14 games. Neish has added six goals for a team leading 23 points. He is currently on a six-game point streak, scoring one goal and adding nine assists during that span.

Where to Watch:

• Elite will play at 12:15 on both Saturday and Sunday, followed shortly after by Premier at 3:15

• Saturday’s games will be held on Blue rink, while Sunday’s games will be on the main rink at Hertz Arena

• Admission to this weekend’s games will be $5. Students get in free with a valid ID
